Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Forensic Social Worker to work full time in Enfield.
The salary for this permanent Forensic Social Worker job is up to £48,060 per annum.
Main duties:
- Safeguarding referrals, risk management strategies, liaison with external agencies, children & family teams, local authorities, police, probation, VLO, MAPPA (referrals and attendance) MARAC, etc.
- Engage appropriately with inpatients and families/carers in accordance with regulatory frameworks for social work – maintain clarity of role, apply interventions which encompass an understanding of the interrelationship between mental health, vulnerability and offending behaviour, identify the need for independent or specialist advocacy.
- Undertake assessment of need & patient social issues – implement responsive social work interventions, promote least restrictive options, articulate a social perspective within a multi professional context. Contact with family, friends, carers providing information/signposting where agreed.
- Producing and presenting statutory reports – balancing public protection, social inclusion with the least restrictive principle, responding to competing agendas and responsibilities whilst promoting rehabilitation and recovery.
- Participation in multi-disciplinary meetings – ward rounds, clinical and business governance, CPAs, safeguarding – making evidence informed contributions.
- Keeping a patient record up to date – care plans, social work interventions, progress notes, making use of information management systems.
- Engage in comprehensive discharge planning activity – needs assessments, liaison and direct contact with Responsible Boroughs, accommodation providers, community resources, funding resource panels, managing DWP issues etc.
- Attendance at and participation in Social Work Team Meetings.
- To undertake any other appropriate duties commensurate with the post and as directed by the line manager or other senior managers.
- Carry out all accountabilities in compliance with the Council’s Policies and Procedures.
Requirements of this Forensic Social Worker:
- A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration.
