We are seeking a skilled social worker to join our team, offering an ongoing position with a daily rate of £197.80. What you will do:

  • Provide a comprehensive social work service to adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs
  • Undertake thorough assessments of client needs in collaboration with staff from other teams and agencies
  • Conduct and participate in risk assessments and manage risk plans, referring to statutory agencies as required
  • Promote a personalised approach to support, focusing on the individual’s wishes and desires
  • Devise and implement support plans that utilise local and personal resources effectively
  • Commission appropriate care packages based on comprehensive assessments and budget considerations
  • Identify service provision developments and communicate these to the Team Manager
  • Ensure timely reassessment of client needs to adjust support as necessary
  • Conduct carer assessments and assist with support planning
  • Implement, monitor, and review care and support plans to ensure effectiveness
  • Maintain accurate records in line with agreed standards
  • Perform statutory duties as needed, such as attending review tribunals and court
  • Engage in supervision, appraisal, and training for continuous improvement
  • Uphold professional standards in compliance with statutory and organisational guidelines
  • Mentor social work students during placements
  • Respond flexibly to the changing needs of the service
  • Collaborate with the Team Manager and other professionals to plan and implement training packages
  • Participate in the duty worker and AMHP/BIA rotas.


Essential requirements:

  • A recognised Social Work Qualification (e.g., CQSW, CSS, DipSW)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Demonstrated experience with service users, including those with a forensic background
  • Familiarity with lines of accountability
  • Practical experience with Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Court of Protection documentation
