Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Deputy Team Manager within the Children in Need Team to work Full Time based in Guernsey.
The salary for this Deputy Team Manager job is up to £71,685 per annum.
Main duties:
- Support in the screening process within the MASH so new referrals are reviewed in a timely manner.
- To facilitate multi-Agency meetings as required with partner agencies, this will include information sharing discussions sharing discussions and reviews regarding Children in Need and Children in Need of Protection. This will also incorporate other multi-agency chairing responsibilities such as Child Protection Strategy Meetings.
- Use the collected information to risk assess cases according to level of risk and need and decide the most appropriate intervention for child’s identified needs.
- Provide line management and professional supervision to the Social Care Professionals within the MASH Team, in addition to performance and development activities so that staff are able to provide a good and improving quality of service.
- Communicate and liaise with other agencies, which involves giving and receiving highly complex and sensitive information.
- Give specialist advice to staff, which includes individual case advice, professional responsibilities, guidelines and legal requirements.
- Liaise with other departments within the directorate and external agencies, both statutory and voluntary.
- Provide verbal and written reports, including statistics, on the activities of the services, child protection services and other service-related information to senior managers.
- Deputise in the Manager’s absence to ensure the smooth running of the service area.
- Ensure operational, professional and management activities meet with the integrated with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
Requirements of this Deputy Team Manager job:
- A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration.
- Have at least 3 years of post-qualifying experience within children’s social care.
- Post qualifying experience in direct services to children, families, and young people.
- Management experience in social care.
- Management Qualification, e.g., CMI Level 3 or equivalent/willingness to work towards qualification.
- Significant post-qualification experience in social work with children and families which must include experience in Child Protection Work and Court Work.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of legislation, regulations and procedures that affect children and a good knowledge of Child Care Practice, particularly about Child Protection and Care Requirements/Compulsion.
