Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Services:
- Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms following established guidelines and protocols.
- Assist radiologists in breast biopsies, localizations, and other interventional procedures.
- Ensure imaging accuracy and clarity for optimal diagnostic interpretation.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and monitor quality control programs to maintain equipment performance and image quality.
- Ensure compliance with national standards and guidelines such as the Mammography Quality Standards Act or equivalent.
- Conduct regular audits to assess and improve service delivery.
Patient Care:
- Provide empathetic and respectful care, ensuring patients are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
- Address patient concerns and provide education about mammography and related procedures.
Leadership and Training:
- Mentor and support junior radiographers, providing guidance in clinical techniques and protocols.
- Lead training sessions to ensure staff proficiency with new equipment and techniques.
- Assist in performance reviews and competency assessments for mammography staff.
Operational Management:
- Schedule and coordinate mammography services to optimize workflow and minimize patient wait times.
- Manage stock levels of consumables and accessories required for mammography services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance clinical services.
