About the Client

Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough pre-, during-, and post-treatment assessments to evaluate health, medical history, and potential side effects.
- Treatment Administration: Safely administer chemotherapy drugs and medications in line with prescribed protocols.
- Monitoring & Management: Watch for adverse reactions and side effects, promptly managing complications as needed.
- Patient Education: Provide patients and families with essential information on chemotherapy treatments, side effects, and self-care practices.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals for cohesive treatment planning.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain precise records of treatment plans, patient responses, and incidents.
- Supportive Care: Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and families.
- Safety Protocols: Adhere strictly to safety and infection control procedures.
- Emergency Response: Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including severe reactions and complications.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Valid RN registration is essential.
- Specialised Training: Completion of a chemotherapy or oncology nursing certification.
- Experience: Prior experience in oncology or chemotherapy administration is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in intravenous medication administration and expertise in managing cytotoxic drugs.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of chemotherapy protocols, medication handling, and side effects.
