What you will do:
- Be professionally accountable and work independently, prioritising and managing a complex and highly specialist caseload.
- Provide highly specialist assessment, differential diagnosis, and appropriate Speech and Language Therapy intervention for adults with swallowing and communication disorders.
- Offer recommendations and implement both direct and indirect management strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Advise on and implement diverse communication strategies and facilitate access to communication aids.
- Communicate complex condition-related information in an accessible manner to patients, MDT members, carers, and other professionals concerning the needs of your caseload.
- Utilise highly developed auditory and perceptual skills in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with dysphagia and communication disorders.
- Formulate and review intervention programmes to be undertaken by carers, volunteers, assistants, and students, based on assessment outcomes.
- Collaborate with senior managers and other professionals to negotiate and resolve any case management issues.
Requirements:
- Must be HCPC registered to ensure the highest standards of practice.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with adults with swallowing and communication disorders is essential.
- A car driver is preferable to facilitate visits across different locations.
