Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to take on a new locum opportunity based in Liverpool, within the Decisions Unit as a Mental Health Practitioner. 

Location: Liverpool - the postholder will work across two sites which are in Warrington & Liverpool

Contract Type: Locum, 3-month contract

Shift Pattern: Cover the 24 hour rota, 07:30 am - 21:00 pm and 20:30 pm - 08:00 am

Pay Rates:

 

  • Days - £26 p/h
  • Nights/Saturdays - £34 p/h
  • Sundays/Bank Holidays - £41 p/h

Duties:

  • Providing a response to emergency mental health incidents via Street Triage Car and also the management of Section 136 including the identification and operationalisation of the identified Places of Safety
  • Be the first point of contact and work collaboratively alongside Support Workers and also with Merseyside and Cheshire Police colleagues, British Transport Police and NWAS colleagues
  • Develop effective working relationships with Local Authorities, Acute colleagues and Mental Health Services
  • Participate in regular clinical and managerial supervision as per policy
  • Participate in supervision to monitor standards of service user care and documentation
  • Assist with screening and telephone triage of referrals, prioritising as appropriate
  • Provide information for referrers, service users and carers
  • Formulate, contribute and participate in the development and implementation of specialist assessments, including risk, with patients requiring crisis care
  • Formulate and deliver plans of care as appropriate in collaboration with the multi- disciplinary team
  • Carry out generic and specialist assessments including risk with patients requiring crisis care
  • Provide short-term evidence based practices and fixed term interventions
  • Support the delivery of education and self-help materials within a variety of locations
  • Develop and maintain effective working partnerships with services in other statutory and non-statutory organisations
  • Assist in the development and implementation of integrated care pathways, including appropriate service user assessments/referrals and models of care
  • Ensure the clinical environment is conductive to promote service users health, safety and well-being, thereby preserving and respecting each services user’s personal dignity, privacy, religious and cultural beliefs
  • Ensure record keeping is in accordance with Professional and standards
  • Ensure the safe management of medicines and adhere to safe practice and principles of administration in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust Medicines Code
  • Work in a professional and collaborative manner with the Multi- disciplinary Team
  • Participate and promote positive intra-agency working
  • Participate and assist in setting standards of service user care based on sound research findings and evidenced based practice

 

Requirements of the Registered Mental Health Nurse:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
  • Proven experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Valid NMC Registration
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, assess and formulate risk management plans, support and implement positive outcomes for the service user
  • A high standard of clinical documentation and clear understanding of policy and procedures is essential for this role
  • An extensive knowledge of the Mental Health Act (1983) and Mental Capacity Act (2005) is also needed
