The salary for this permanent Anaesthetic Practitioner job is £34,100 - £41,572 per annum.
Full time: 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Sunday: Early (07:30-16:00), Late (12:30-21:00) and long days (07:30-21:00)

Main Duties:
- Prepare the anaesthetic room, ensuring all necessary equipment and medications are available and functioning correctly.
- Check and calibrate anaesthetic machines and other equipment to ensure they are ready for use.
- Conduct pre-operative assessments of patients, including reviewing medical histories and conducting relevant tests.
- Assess and address any concerns or risks associated with anaesthesia for each patient.
- Administer anaesthetic agents and medications as prescribed by the anaesthetist or surgeon.
- Monitor patients’ responses to anaesthesia and adjust dosages as necessary.
- Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and consciousness during surgery.
- Provide support and interventions as needed to maintain patient safety and comfort.
- Assist the anaesthetist in performing various procedures, such as intubation and positioning.
- Prepare and administer intravenous fluids and medications as directed by the anaesthetist.
- Respond promptly to any anaesthetic emergencies or complications, providing immediate care and intervention.
- Participate in resuscitation efforts if required.
- Monitor and support patients in the recovery room following anaesthesia.
- Provide detailed handover reports to recovery staff and document any relevant observations or incidents.
Requirements of the Anaesthetic Practitioner:
- HCPC/NMC Registration: Current and valid registration with HCPC or NMC.
- Theatre Experience: Postgraduate experience in a theatre setting.
- Anaesthetics Experience: At least 12 months of experience in anaesthetics.
- Anaesthetics Training: Completed an anaesthetics course.
- Room Preparation: Prepare the anaesthetic room tailored to the specific needs of the patient and anaesthetist.
