Job Opportunity: Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Grade: 8a £67,355 - £78,366 BAR £80,716 per annum
We are currently seeking an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join the Hospital Services team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the Emergency Department, providing advanced care to patients within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and support in the assessment, planning and delivery of patient/client care within the agreed areas of responsibility
- Closely monitor the standards of practice, identifying and addressing factors which may impact on the quality of patient/client care
- Ensure that risk assessment strategies are employed within areas of responsibility and that relevant actions are taken to minimise any identified risks
- Utilise information and data from a range of sources to identify problems, guide decision-making processes and develop a strategic direction for service delivery
- Provide leadership and guidance in promoting service user involvement in the planning, delivery and evaluation of care
- Keep abreast of the political and professional developments impacting on contemporary nursing practice
- Ensure that the NMC professional code of conduct, and other professional standards set by the NMC are upheld by staff members working within the postholder’s sphere of responsibility
- Develop effective channels of communication between the practice area of responsibility and other relevant departments and agencies
- Maintain practice expertise through the delivery of patient/client care one day a week on a supernumerary basis
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with relevant emergency care experience at a senior level
- Approved Teaching/Mentoring Qualification
- Degree in a related field
- Current EPALS/ALS
- Masters degree in Advanced Clinical Practice qualification
- Non-medical Prescribing qualification
- Management Qualification
- Royal College of Emergency Medicine Advanced Clinical Practitioner Credentialing as Associate Member
- Experience as a Team Leader co-ordinating the care of patients with complex undiagnosed conditions attending emergency care
- Evidence of excellent communication skills with particular reference to Multidisciplinary team working, service users, carers and managers liaising with external agencies
- Experienced in conducting individual performance reviews
- Experienced in the recruitment and selection processes and other HR functions
- Evidence of a thorough understanding and completion of Emergency Quality Improvement indicators
