Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon
Location: Braintree
Type: Permanent
Salary: £65,000 per annum
Sanctuary Personnel is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Vet to join our client's friendly, experienced, and supportive team. This opportunity is available on either a full-time or part-time basis.
About Our Client
Their practice is built on attention to detail and providing high-quality care. Their team, including locums, often praise their organisation and collaborative environment. They strive to create a workplace where everyone can utilise their skills to their full potential and contribute to continuous improvement. Close communication between their leadership team ensures that every suggestion and idea is heard and considered.
Their location offers many advantages, including proximity to a designer outlet, various eateries, and excellent amenities. Braintree, situated in Essex, balances beautiful countryside with vibrant city life, featuring food markets, vineyards, breweries, cafés, and even a castle with jousting events. They are well-connected by transport, with London just an hour away by train, and two airports and a ferry port within easy reach.
Shift Pattern:
This is primarily a full-time role, but they are open to part-time hours or job-sharing arrangements. The weekend rota is 1 in 4, which is the only time you would be required to work sole charge. Full-time positions involve a 4-day work week, but they are flexible and open to discussing different working patterns. Their departing Vet has been working two weeks on, then two weeks off to return to Italy, and they are open to similar arrangements if you can cover 1 in 4 weekends.
About You
They are seeking a Vet confident with routine consultations and presentations who is ready for a new challenge. They support continuous professional development (CPD) in any clinical area of interest and welcome those aspiring to take on leadership roles or mentorship. Their varied caseload provides excellent exposure to surgeries, and they have visiting specialists in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, and cardiology to support their team.
Their standard consultation time is 15 minutes, extended for emergencies and specific cases, allowing their Vets the time needed to work up cases thoroughly. They prioritise attention to detail and client care, incorporating administration time and additional on-the-day appointments into their daily schedule to manage the unpredictable nature of practice.
They offer a salary of up to £65K, negotiable depending on experience (pro rata), along with an excellent benefits package, including:
- Paid RCVS, BVA, and VDS memberships
- Generous CPD allowance
- Discounts across our group
- Exclusive discounts through multiple retailers as part of our Reward Hub
- 5.6 weeks holiday per year, increasing to 6.6 weeks after 2 years of service
- Visa sponsorship
They are an Equal Opportunities Employer and look forward to welcoming a new member to their team.
