What you will do:
- Tend to increasing waiting lists and urgent swallowing referrals, especially those with palliative care needs, providing timely and effective care.
- Deliver specialist speech and language therapy to adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Provide guidance and support to patients, families, and caregivers regarding communication strategies.
- Conduct assessments and develop targeted therapy plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
Requirements for the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:
- Hold a degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy with HCPC registration.
- Demonstrate recent post-qualifying experience as a Speech and Language Therapist within the UK/NHS.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Exhibit the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
