Main Duties:
- The post holder will be part of the ultrasound team in providing an effective and efficient ultrasound service.
- Responsible for planning and running their day to day list of patients.
- Required to carry out a wide range of complex clinical duties, acting on their own initiative, and using a wide range of professional, analytical and reasoning skills.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner carrying out a wide range of complex ultrasound MSK examinations (including Upper and Lower Limbs, Soft Tissue Lumps and Bumps, Hip and Groin and Tendinopathy). Report these examinations without routine input from any other professional discipline.
- Required to make decisions regarding follow-up scans to monitor conditions and also referral to the appropriate clinicians when necessary. These actions will be based on the findings of the ultrasound examinations.
- Required to communicate highly sensitive information to patients and clinicians.
Requirements of the Sonographer:.
- HCPC registered and a qualified Radiographer with specialised experience in Sonography.
- Recent postgraduate experience in the UK.
- Right to work in the UK and meet all necessary immigration requirements.
- Proficiency in English language (both written and verbal).
- PACS CRIS desirable
- Previous senior experience
