Main Purpose of the Job:
The core mission is to deliver a responsible and statutory social work service to children, young people, and their families or carers. This involves conducting assessments, interventions, case planning, and reviewing processes that align with the objectives of the team and service unit.
What you will do:
- Undertake all social work on allocated cases, or engage in short-term assessments.
- Maintain precise records of work conducted for the Directorate, informing service users of their rights regarding these records.
- Inform service users about their right to lodge complaints concerning the services provided.
- Craft case reports and correspondence for diverse readerships including meetings, conferences, courts, external agencies, and service users.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, guidance, and relevant legislation in all tasks.
- Address the needs of service users and carers from varied communities, with an emphasis on equalities issues in all aspects of work.
- Participate in duty systems for the service unit as required.
- Foster effective working relationships with external agencies linked to the unit's work.
- Utilize IT systems for data input as required.
- Ensure the safety of oneself and others by assessing potential risks of violence and taking preventative measures.
