Duties of the Social Worker:
- Provide supervision and support to foster carers, ensuring the well-being and safety of children in their care.
- Conduct regular home visits and assessments to monitor the quality of care provided by foster families.
- Collaborate with local authority child care teams to coordinate services and support for foster placements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to foster care.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Advocate for the best interests of children and promote their emotional, physical, and educational development.
- Ensure compliance with fostering regulations, legislation, and National Minimum Standards.
- Support foster carers in managing challenging situations and providing a nurturing environment. Skills and Experience:
- Ability to build positive relationships with foster carers and children.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant frontline experience in Children’s Services
- Experienced social worker with a background in safeguarding and fostering.
- Strong working knowledge of fostering regulations and legislation.
