Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Children’s & Families Team to work Full Time based in Bristol.


The salary for this Social Worker job is up to £47,420 per annum.

Main duties:

  • Fulfil the responsibilities of an accountable statutory allocated Social Worker or Supervising Social Worker with a workload commensurate with their level of competence, qualification and experience.
  • Carry out the statutory duties & responsibilities of the council within relevant legislative frameworks. Work within council policies, procedures and good practice guidelines in order to meet the needs of children & families. Work with children and young people, families, carers & communities to help them make informed decisions, engender change enabling them to clarify and express their needs and contribute to service planning.
  • Ensure that tasks are up to date, with tasks completed to time scale set. Maintain up to date case notes and other records, write reports as required.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to children and families, connected persons or carers, supporting them to achieve positive change and improved outcomes.
  • Undertake complex assessments and be responsible for actions in situations where a child or vulnerable adult’s safety is at risk, observing safeguarding policies/procedures, the legal principles of the Children Act 1989, Working Together statutory guidance and other relevant legislation.
  • Advise on and enable the creative use of universal and specialist resources, community resources, including assistive technology and other equipment. Provide advice and guidance to other professionals, agencies and partners.
  • Ensure that information and services are delivered to children, families and carers is in an appropriate format in line with our duties under the Equality Act. Promote equality as an integral part of the role and tret everyone with fairness and dignity.
  • Demonstrate appropriate use of supervision & ability to seek advice as/when necessary, including compliance with the scheme of delegation escalating issues in a timely manner.
  • Carry out any duties, commensurate with the post, as may be required for the efficient running of the service.

Requirements of this Social Workerjob:

  • A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Have a good understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
