Job Description:

What You Will Do:

- Develop safeguarding plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring interventions align with the six principles of safeguarding under the Care Act.
- Conduct Section 9 assessments to evaluate adults' care and support needs, pinpoint risks, and encourage independence.
- Apply the Mental Capacity Act 2005 to assess capacity and make decisions for individuals lacking capacity.
- Perform risk assessments to identify potential harm and implement effective risk reduction strategies.
- Collaborate with other agencies within MASH to ensure a unified and effective safeguarding response.
- Promote "Making Safeguarding Personal" by involving individuals in decisions concerning their care and safeguarding plans.
- Support adults in making informed choices and maintaining control over their lives while ensuring their safety.
- Build strong partnerships with professionals, communities, and service providers to enhance support networks for vulnerable adults.
- Maintain detailed electronic records of assessments, decisions, and interventions, and prepare detailed reports for case reviews or legal proceedings.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

- Degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification.
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Previous experience in adult safeguarding or similar roles within social care settings is essential.
- Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and relevant statutory guidance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with individuals, carers, and professionals.
- Ability to manage caseloads efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
