Duties:
- The completion of statutory annual reviews and strength-based care act assessments in a timely manner
- Record keeping is a vital and necessary part of the job
- Working with Partner Agencies and will be required to maintain good working relationships
- May come across and will have to undertake S.42 work, MCA’s and best Interest assessments
- Undertake appropriate training and be responsible for their Continuing Professional Development
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Be able to work according to the relevant legislation for people in need of support, plus people over the age of 18 who have a Learning Disability
- The ability to assess and review people in receipt of care and support
- Have excellent report writing and computer skills
- Being able to communicate effectively is central to the role
- Be flexible, committed, and hard working with a willingness to work to quality standards
- Must have experience of working within a multidisciplinary framework and need to have good negotiating skills
- Being able to move efficiently both around the Borough and to undertake care needs assessment and reviews of placements in and outside of the Borough is an integral and regular feature of the Bromley LD team social worker role, and therefore having a full current driving licence is essential; and use of a means of transport is also deemed to be essential and compulsory for the performance of the job
