Team/Specialism: Fostering

Pay Rate: £48 per hour (assignment rate)

Contract: Locum, 3-Months

Hours: Full-time. 08:40 am - 17:20 pm, Monday - Friday (flexibility required when on duty)

Duties:

  • Lead and manage a team of social workers and professionals
  • Provide safeguarding advice and guidance
  • Oversee statutory social work services for children, young people, and families
  • Step in for the Operational Manager when needed
  • Ensure effective performance management and staff training
  • Manage budgets efficiently
  • Collaborate with partner agencies to improve outcomes
  • Conduct reflective supervision and manage staff performance
  • Handle complaints and commendations
  • Manage social work caseloads to ensure timely service delivery
  • Attend court proceedings and relevant meetings
  • Conduct case audits and ensure compliance with procedures
  • Implement lessons from serious case reviews to enhance practices

Requirements of the Team Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced DBS check (child and adult/barred)
  • Extensive knowledge of fostering regulations and standards
  • Experience managing supported lodgings and post-approval support in fostering
  • Strong understanding of supported lodgings regulations and Ofsted registration
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
