This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join our dynamic Referral and Assessment team in Surrey, specialising in working directly with children and families. Based in the vibrant areas of Kingston and Richmond, you will play an essential role in handling new referrals, child in need cases, child protection matters, and initial court proceedings. What you will do:

  • Conduct strategy discussions and initial child protection conferences
  • Develop Child In Need Planning and execute court actions, including Emergency Protective Orders if required
  • Undertake child protective investigations and conduct safety and contingency planning
  • Maintain thorough documentation and records in line with policy and statutory guidelines
  • Engage in child-focused direct work with creativity and intention
  • Conduct thorough assessments and care planning, including report writing and presenting in court
  • Build strong partnerships with families and stakeholders, advocating effectively for children’s voices
  • Operate within a supportive team, sharing best practices and collaborating effectively
