Sanctuary Personnel, an award-winning and renowned Recruitment Agency is looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Work Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to work full-time based in Hillingdon, within the Safeguarding, Partnership & Quality Assurance Service.
The salary for this permanent Independent Reviewing Officer job is £53,928 per annum.
Duties:
- Chair Looked After Reviews in accordance with current legislation and the IRO Handbook, to ensure that children and young people actively participate in these processes and to provide quality assurance for all children who are looked after
- Have an overview of the child’s care plan and ensure the social work team are held to account to achieve this
- Comply with statutory guidance, current legislation and the IRO Handbook by providing independent chairing of reviews of looked after children, and to attend and participate in meetings relevant to the care and decision making for children and young people
- Ensure that the views of children and young people are heard and given due attention and to ensure that children and young people actively participate in these processes
- Produce accurate records of these reviews
- Following the review to monitor and audit cases, ensuring the regular review and monitoring of individual care plans and the achievement of appropriate and timely outcomes for children and young people
- Carry out quality assurance monitoring, report findings and make recommendations about the practice improvements required
- Contribute to the development of recording, evaluation and quality assurance systems for children subject to child protection plans and looked after children
- Analysis of information and information sharing with managers and social workers to maintain and promote high practice standards
- Act as consultant to managers, social work staff and other agencies about policy, procedure and practice relating to safeguarding and children Looked After with the aim of providing direction and guidance to ensure standards are maintained and procedures adhered to
Requirements of the Independent Reviewing Officer:
- CQSW Diploma in Social Work or equivalent
- Must be registered with Social Work England (SWE)
- Experience of supervisory and front line management
- Willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check
- Demonstrate understanding of the Council’s Customer Care Standards and ensure that these standards are met in order to deliver the Council vision of ‘putting our residents first’
- Be independent and objective in the process of making decisions in Looked After Reviews
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Diploma/certificate in management
