Social Worker – Learning Disabilities Team

Ongoing locum opportunity for a Social Worker specialising in Learning Disabilities, based in Camden, UK, earning £32.35 per hour. This is a Full-Time role. What you will do:

  • Undertake assessments for people with learning disabilities and their carers, assessing needs, risks, and capacity where appropriate.
  • Respond effectively to unexpected events and crises, recognising signs of harm, abuse, and neglect and managing these issues.
  • Work to the Adult Social Care operational principles to deliver high-quality, strengths-based assessments, interventions, and care planning.
  • Provide support and advice to individuals making initial contact with the service and back up for our First Contact (duty) service.
  • Manage a caseload with varying complexity, prioritising tasks and statutory responsibilities effectively.
  • Conduct interviews, Mental Capacity Act assessments, and observations to gather information for a holistic assessment of needs.
  • Develop risk management strategies and protection plans as needed.
  • Regularly monitor and review support plans, ensuring the person with a learning disability remains central to the process.
  • Provide guidance for new referrals, working closely with our dedicated Access and Support Officer.
