Main duties of the SLT:
- Offering intervention to individuals but also group work, advice and guidance to tutors - 8-10 class size
- Take responsibillity with supervision from an experienced SLT for the provision of assessment, diagnosis, and intervention of caseloads of students in a range of settings including specialist education and work experience settings
- Develop skills and abilities in the delivery of speech and language therapy and the ability to reflect on clinical practice with support of senior and specilist colleagues
- Provide a service which takes account of the needs of students from a range of ethnic and linguistic backgrounds
- Explain/raise awareness and understanding of the role of speech and language therapists to staff, visitors, students, volunteers, other health professionals and carers.
Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:
- Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration
- Recent UK/NHS post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist
- Looking for 2 days a week - ideally Tuesdays and Thursdays or Tuesdays and Wednesdays or Monday - Friday to capture all the students. As long as Tuesday is the main day
