Main Purpose

Join them as an Occupational Therapist and play a pivotal role in their interdisciplinary team, delivering specialised OT services within the BIRT Neurobehavioral model. You will lead OT provision, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support service users with acquired brain injuries (ABI).

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Clinical / Professional Practice:

  • Work autonomously in neurological rehabilitation, managing a caseload of service users with complex needs.
  • Employ evidence-based and service user-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
  • Address occupational performance and skill deficits across self-maintenance, productivity, education, and leisure.
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments and maintain accurate documentation in line with RCOT guidelines.
  • Collaborate within the multi-disciplinary team to establish therapeutic goals and treatment plans.

Leadership:

  • Manage workload effectively, prioritising tasks and resources.
  • Act as a role model, ensuring high standards of practice and supporting the development of others.
  • Promote health, safety, and security at work, contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Evidence, Research and Development:

  • Contribute to research and audit projects, incorporating evidence into practice.
  • Implement RCOT guidelines and contribute to local policy development.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent within Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Previous UK Occupational Therapy experience
