Duties of the Social Worker:
- Manage a caseload involving children, families, and carers, enabling them to identify and meet their needs through appropriate support and guidance.
- Undertake child protection investigations, act as a key worker for children with a Child Protection Plan, and manage risk to prevent harm and abuse.
- Complete proportionate assessments and reviews to ensure the needs of children and families are met while maximising their participation.
- Provide accurate information, advice, and guidance, and signpost to other agencies or services where necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date case records in line with policies and data protection requirements, ensuring clear recording of analysis and judgments.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant frontline experience in Social Services working as a Qualified Social Worker
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant legislation, national policies, and social care processes, including safeguarding and person-centred planning.
- Skills: Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with families, carers, and professionals, including writing clear and concise reports.
- Flexibility: Ability to work effectively in multi-agency settings and willingness to travel across the county to fulfil job demands.
