We are on the hunt for a skilled and resourceful Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement (HOPE) Program in our Mental Health Community Services in the vibrant city of Mildura, Australia. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, care planning, and psychotherapy for consumers at risk of suicide, both in inpatient and community settings.
- Apply suicide prevention and intervention models (e.g., STARS, CAMS) to manage risk and enhance consumer wellbeing.
- Supervise and mentor staff from the Graduate Allied Health Program and undergraduate placements.
- Engage in community consultation and educational activities to raise awareness about suicide prevention.
- Ensure a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed approach to care.
- Develop and implement tailored care plans for vulnerable groups, including ATSI, CALD, LGBTQIA+, and others.
Essential Qualifications:
- Registered/Accredited Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, or Social Worker.
- Experience in suicide prevention and working with vulnerable populations.
- Strong knowledge of mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with suicide prevention models like CAMS and STARS.
- Knowledge of specialized therapeutic interventions (e.g., trauma therapy, alcohol counseling).
