Sanctuary Personnel are seeking an experienced Learning Disability Nurse, Children’s Nurse, or Mental Health Nurse to join our client's secure healthcare team. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for conducting assessments and managing a caseload of patients within a secure setting. This role requires a holistic approach, addressing a variety of complex needs among the service users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of patients with a diagnosed Learning Disability or ASD.
  • Conduct initial assessments for all new referrals, develop appropriate care plans, and follow up as needed.
  • Participate in procedures to support patients at risk of self-harm or suicide, following NICE guidance.
  • Engage in monthly supervision and annual evaluations with your line manager to assess targets, progress, and learning objectives.
  • Support patients using excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside patience and resilience.
  • Provide training and advice to staff on the care of patients with a Learning Disability.
  • Assist in delivering awareness days and workshops, working with the team to develop these further.
  • Attend weekly Integrated Mental Health Team Referrals meetings to ensure a cohesive approach when discussing at-risk patients.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential:

  • Part 1 NMC registration.
  • 5 years of UK residency history.

Desirable:

  • Evidence of further development in clinical practice.
  • Experience working in a secure environment.
  • Degree-level qualification or above.
  • Experience with innovation or change initiatives.
  • Nurse Prescriber qualification.
  • Experience in delivering value for money services.
  • Full driving licence.
