Duties of the Pharmacy Technician:
- To perform a range of organisational, supervisory, dispensing and checking functions within the pharmacy aseptic unit in order to provide an efficient and quality preparation service.
- Assist with the day to day to supervision and co-ordination of aseptic preparation, dispensing and checking activities, highlighting any issues to the Lead Aseptic Technician.,
- Planning and prioritisation of own workload liaising with the rest of the team members to maintain consistent workflow.
- Provide pre-process checks on assembled trays on completion of Pre-Process Accuracy Checking Framework.
- Provide in-process checks during preparation of injectable medicines according to preparation method on product worksheets.
- Accuracy check products that have been dispensed by the aseptics team.
- To carry out and cascade train team members in broth transfer validations, transfer processes, assembly, dispensing and preparation.
- To carry out environmental monitoring for isolators and clean rooms, reporting any deviations to procedures or parameters.
- To maintain own operator validations as per SOPs.
- Maintain validation records (operator and process) on the Quality Management System.
Requirements of the Pharmacy Technician:
- GPHC Registration
- Previous experience within a UK based Pharmacy setting
- NVQ or equivalent – Pharmacy Technician qualification
