Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our client's dynamic team.

Role Context:

Join a leading charity dedicated to providing life-transforming services for individuals with disabilities. Each year, they support over 10,000 children and adults with physical or learning disabilities and acquired brain injuries. Their mission is to help them gain independence, whether through developing new skills, rehabilitation after an injury or stroke, or enhancing mobility for a more accessible life.

Their organisation comprises two main services: Mobility Services, which offers outreach services across the South East of England, and a Care and Rehabilitation Centre located on their Leatherhead campus in Surrey. Additionally, they operate 15 retail charity shops and collaborate with smaller charities providing innovative solutions for children and residential care for adults with learning disabilities.

Job Purpose:

As a key member of their team, you will conduct comprehensive assessments for individuals with disabilities who wish to drive or continue driving after an illness, injury, or disability, or who need to travel as passengers. Your role includes:

  • Assessing and advising on appropriate driving and mobility equipment, from simple devices to high-tech solutions.
  • Evaluating vehicle transfer options to ensure safe and easy access for drivers and passengers.
  • Providing independent assessments for wheelchairs, scooters, and other mobility aids.
  • Collaborating with Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) to assess learner drivers and with driving assessors to review the capabilities of current licence holders, including those with neurological conditions, age-related changes, learning difficulties, and mental health issues.
  • Addressing vocational driving and motorbike riding assessments.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent within Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Previous UK experience working as an Occupational Therapist

Benefits:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing with service)
  • Pension and Life Assurance
  • Westfield Healthcare Cashback scheme and shopping discounts

  • A range of training opportunities to support your career development
