Location: Durham
Contract Type: Agency/Locum (ongoing)
Pay Rate: £25 per hour (assignment rate)
Shift Pattern: Full Time – part time will be considered. 08:30 am - 16:30 pm, Monday - Friday with weekend cover required as per rota.

Duties:
- Apply specialised skills to manage a caseload of patients receiving cardiorespiratory care and rehabilitation in the acute inpatient setting
- Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide timely treatment and plans and to enable appropriate discharge and onward referrals for patients to home or community settings
- Develop their previously consolidated skills working in the specialities of; medical, respiratory, surgical, orthopaedics, care of the elderly and stroke wards as part of the inpatient physiotherapy team, they will be expected to cover across the wider acute inpatient team over a 7 day rota
- Work as part of the team to support and motivate patients in their rehabilitation and enhance patient flow throughout the acute setting
- Work as part of the wider acute inpatient physiotherapy team to manage a daily case load across the site, to support learning and development of band 5 physiotherapists, assistants and students
- Deliver clinical education of qualified staff and physiotherapy assistants within the speciality and students at graduate level
Requirements of the Acute Inpatient Physiotherapist:
- Qualified physiotherapist, i.e., Degree or equivalent within Physiotherapy
- Recent UK experience within specialised physiotherapy
- Registered with the HCPC as a physiotherapist to work in the UK
- NHS experience would be advantageous but not essential
- Car driver (preferred)
- Have proficient skills in respiratory physiotherapy in order to manage patients in their caseload with respiratory problems and will be expected to participate in the overnight on call rota
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with medical, nursing and therapy colleagues, to ensure delivery of a co-ordinated multi-disciplinary service
- Willing to undertake a DBS check
