Summary: An Interim Senior Manager for Children's Residential is responsible for overseeing the operations, management, and quality of services within children's residential homes, ensuring that the care provided meets the highest standards and complies with regulatory requirements.
Main duties:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of multiple children's residential homes, ensuring effective service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, including Ofsted and safeguarding standards.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the quality of care and support for children.
- Manage and support residential care staff, including managers, care workers, and support staff.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide mentorship, and facilitate professional development opportunities.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels, including recruitment, training, and retention of staff.
- Take a lead role in safeguarding practices, ensuring the protection and welfare of children in care.
- Ensure that all staff are fully trained and competent in child protection policies and procedures.
- Act as the point of contact for safeguarding issues and liaise with external agencies when necessary.

Requirements of the Senior Manager:
- Relevant professional qualification in social work, health, or residential care (e.g., NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or equivalent).
- Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., Social Work England) may be required.
- Extensive experience in managing children's residential homes or similar services.
- Strong background in safeguarding and child protection.
- Proven track record of leading and managing teams, with experience in staff development.
- Experience of working within regulatory frameworks, including Ofsted inspections.
