Sanctuary Personnel is currently looking for an experienced Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to take on a new ongoing contract role within the Older Persons Community Mental Health Team.
Location: Basildon
Pay Rate: £27.17 per hour (assignment rate)
Contract Type: Locum, 6-month contract/ongoing block booking.
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week (hours flexible between 8am and 8pm). Part time will be considered.
Main Duties:

Assessment and Care Planning
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based care for assigned service users or groups, including health promotion activities.

Clinical Risk Management
- Perform clinical risk assessments for service users, offering effective advice, guidance, and decision-making to coordinate revised care plans.

Care Coordination
- Manage and coordinate care and assessments for a designated caseload under the Care Programme Approach.

Service Development and Quality Standards
- Participate in service development by setting quality standards and conducting audits, monitoring, and reviews in line with current clinical guidance and policy.

Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with professional responsibilities under Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Legislation.

Mental Health Act Compliance
- Adhere to and implement the requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983.

Carer and Service User Involvement
- Promote the involvement of carers and service users within the service and its provision.

Therapeutic Relationships
- Establish therapeutic relationships with service users and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, maintaining appropriate boundaries in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council's professional code of conduct.

Carer Support and Education
- Ensure the delivery of carers’ assessments, education, and support in accordance with the National Service Framework requirements.

Team Support and Coverage
- Provide support and caseload coverage for colleagues/team members as needed, including deputizing when necessary.
Requirements of the Community Psychiatric Nurse:
- Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
- Experience working as a Mental Health Nurse
- NMC Registration
