Working Hours: Part-time or full-time. Core working hours are 9am- 5pm, but flexibility around working hours will be considered e.g. 8am - 6pm, 8am - 4pm, 9am - 6pm (Mon

Community Psychiatric Nurse Pay Rate: £26 - £31 per hour (assignment rate)

Contract Type: Locum 3 month contract

Duties of the Community Psychiatric Nurse:

  • Toffer assessment and interventions  to children and young people who present with persistent and significant difficulties with the following:

    • Depression where severe or not responded to earlier intervention
    • Self-harm and suicide attempt
    • Severe anxiety (including obsessive compulsive disorder)
    • Eating disorders with significant risk or impairment (such as anorexia nervosa or bulimia)
    • Psychosis (in those aged under 14)
    • Somatoform disorders
    • Neuro developmental disorder assessments.
    • Prolonged adjustment difficulties eg abnormal grief reactions.
    • Persistent post-traumatic disorder (PTSD)
    • Learning disability
    • Autistic spectrum conditions (at appropriate times)

Requirements of the Community Psychiatric Nurse:

  • Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
  • Experience working as a mental health nurse
  • NMC Registration
