Sanctuary Personnel is currently looking for an experienced Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to take on a new ongoing contract role.
Location: Uxbridge
Pay Rate: £21 - £41 per hour (assignment rate):
- Days: £21 per hour
- Nights/Saturdays: £31 - £33 per hour
- Sundays/Bank Holidays: £40 - £41 per hour
Contract Type: Locum, 6-month contract/ongoing block booking.
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week (hours flexible between 8am and 8pm). Part time will be considered.
Main Duties:
- Holistic Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments using the single assessment process, risk assessment tools, and mental state examinations to deliver top-notch nursing care to service users in the community.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Offer a variety of evidence-based therapies, including bereavement counselling, medication management, anxiety management, relaxation techniques, and problem-solving strategies.
- Crisis Response: Effectively handle urgent and unexpected clinical situations involving service users, applying your analytical and problem-solving skills to manage these events.
- Complex Mental Health Management: Use your in-depth knowledge of mental health issues to provide comprehensive care for service users with complex mental health conditions.
- Medication Monitoring: Oversee and advise on psychotropic medications for service users, monitoring their effectiveness and any adverse reactions. Collaborate with General Practitioners or Consultant Psychiatrists to address any issues.
- Depot Medication Administration: Administer depot medications and monitor for any adverse effects or changes in mental state, ensuring safe and effective treatment.
- Professional Advice: Regularly consult with other professionals regarding medication management, including side effects, dosages, and changes in medication, in collaboration with Consultant Psychiatrists or General Practitioners.
- Clinical Reviews: Actively participate clinical reviews, including zoning, MDT meetings, and other consultations to contribute to comprehensive patient care.
Requirements of the Community Psychiatric Nurse:
- Degree or equivalent in Mental Health Nursing
- Experience working as a Mental Health Nurse
- NMC Registration
