Sanctuary Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our client, a well-regarded hospital located near Central London, with excellent transport links and easy access to the M25 and surrounding areas.

About the Hospital:

This small yet highly respected hospital features four wards, including two medium secure wards for male patients, one low secure ward for male patients, and an acute ward that accommodates both male and female patients. Role Overview:

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping service users enhance their independence, confidence, and control over their lives. You will design and implement tailored treatment programmes to support their recovery and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Conduct and contribute to assessments, observations, and ongoing evaluations, providing accurate and timely feedback.
  • Develop, implement, and review treatment plans.
  • Organise and deliver therapeutic activities and interventions, both in groups and individually.
  • Assess responses to activities using models such as MOHO.
  • Offer practical support, advice, and education to service users, carers, and colleagues.
  • Maintain precise documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.
  • Perform risk assessments and address potential hazards in service users' environments.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, including referral, review, and ward rounds.
  • Report and document incidents as needed.
  • Facilitate group work such as relaxation and health promotion sessions.
  • Utilise relevant screening and assessment tools effectively.
  • Engage in evidence-based practice and contribute to service development and policy creation.

Non-Clinical Duties:

  • Advocate for Occupational Therapy within the service.
  • Participate in the development of Occupational Therapy pathways and service improvements.
  • Support recruitment processes for new staff as needed.
  • Ensure performance targets and compliance with local and government initiatives.
  • Provide training to other professionals where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • BSc (Hons) or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC accreditation.
  • Excellent personal organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
