Lead and manage the provision of high-quality nursing care, in an environment that fosters and encourages staff growth and both patient and staff satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Develop & monitor nurse duty schedules and adjust for sickness and absenteeism, plan efficient use of staffing resources on the unit, ensuring that staffing levels are safe, appropriate, and have the necessary skill mix on each shift. Ensure that all nursing care plans and other documents are properly and accurately completed Work with the head of department and the multidisciplinary teams to participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in their clinical areas Have an integral role in all aspects of Staff Development, Empowerment and Management within his/her specific unit under the direction and guidance of Nursing Administration and the Continuing Nursing Education Service Participates in developing, maintaining and updating written evidence-based policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of these in-patient units. Demonstrates "hands on" clinical skills specific to the area of practice and other job assignments as required. Requirements of the Head Nurse: Qualifications: Bachelor, Sciences of Nursing (BSN) from recognized college Experience: Minimum 7 years experience with the last 2 years working as a Head Nurse within the specific speciality.
