Main duties of the Registered General Nurse: Conduct thorough pre-assessment screenings for patients scheduled for surgical procedures, evaluating medical history, current medications, and potential risk factors Coordinate and facilitate necessary tests, including blood work, ECGs, and other pre-operative diagnostics, ensuring all results are reviewed and discussed with relevant healthcare professionals Collaborate closely with anesthetists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal preparation and planning for each patient’s surgery Assist in managing outpatient clinics, supporting doctors and allied health professionals during consultations, minor procedures, and follow-up visits Educate and advise patients on health maintenance, postoperative care, and any prescribed treatments or interventions Provide clinical support, including wound care, suture removals, dressing changes, and patient observations Requirements for the Registered General Nurse role: Degree or equivalent in Nursing (RGN qualified) with active NMC Registration (Adult). Recent nursing experience in the UK. Additional qualifications in pre-assessment or outpatient nursing (desirable but not essential). Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, ideally within pre-assessment, outpatient, or surgical departments.
