Online events for healthcare workers

Professionals working in healthcare jobs can access a wide range of classes, workshops, webinars and more via the handy NHS events portal.
Fancy joining a wellbeing at work programme, developing your leadership skills or learning more about working with minority ethnic communities? The NHS England website features a calendar of online events, most of which are free for healthcare workers.
Whether you want to improve your professional practice, learn new ways of protecting your physical and mental health or find out about an area of healthcare that's not your specialisation, you're sure to find something that catches your imagination and helps you widen your knowledge and skills. There's a wide range of events relating to many different healthcare roles, including nurses, allied heath professionals and imaging staff such as radiographers and sonographers.
Professional development at your fingertips
The NHS England online events calendar couldn't be easier to use. Let's say you're already working in a nursing role and you're interested in the Professional Nurse Advocate Training Programme. Click on the event listing and you'll be taken to a screen which gives full details of the event, the date and time, how it's being delivered (eg Microsoft Teams or Zoom), who it's aimed at and how to contact the organiser if you want to know more about the event.
If you'd like to attend, you simply click on the green 'RESERVE' button to book your place. There's also a button for you to add the event automatically to your Google, Apple, Outlook or Yahoo personal calendar.
Looking after your own health and wellbeing
As well as events focusing on professional development, the calendar also features options dealing with personal health and wellbeing issues which may affect healthcare staff themselves.
Why not join comedian, improvisor and author Pippa Evans for a fun session introducing you to the principles of improvisation? Aimed at all NHS staff, 'Improvisation for a Better Day' is an interactive workshop that encourages participants to look at life differently, unleash their inner creativity and learn how mistakes can lead you into spectacular adventures.
Tie-in events
Some of the events featured on the NHS calendar are linked to other high-profile healthcare conferences and initiatives. For example, on 28 July NHS England and Improvement are hosting a webinar to kick off World Hepatitis Day 2021. It's an opportunity to hear about the vital work of the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Elimination Programme, and what the NHS and its partners are doing to eradicate the disease and save lives.
