Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Team Manager within the Transitions Team to work Full Time for based in Haringey.

The salary for this permanent Team Manager job is up to £59,328 per annum.

Main duties:

  • To manage and supervise a team of, Social Workers, Social Work Students and administrative staff. This will include recruitment and resourcing, induction and development and the management of employee staff productivity and conduct using the formal management processes where necessary.
  • To manage the workload of the team, ensuring that the care management process is robust, that assessment of need demonstrate good practice and that case reviews, are carried out on time. To ensure that the service is in line with statutory requirements, eligibility criteria and department policy.
  • To manage a commissioning budget by close monitoring of the cost of packages of care.
  • To support the Council in providing analysis of the use of the team budget and to identify areas where the financial efficiencies would be achieved to ensure best value.
  • To ensure that packages of care are innovative, cost effective and provided in line with assessed needs by embedding the Strengths based approach in the team practice, provide regular feedback to staff via Supervision, ‘My Conversations’ and Team Meetings.
  • To contribute to overall service planning and the implementation of service developments. Work with health professionals in ensuring seamless services for transitioning young people particularly those who may require hospital discharge planning, continuing and palliative care and joint packages of care.
  • To ensure that the young person and parent carer involvement is paramount, and that care act assessments have high priority and of a high quality.
  • To ensure that case file recording and young people information is maintained on ICS and adults social care system, completed according to standard and linked to Performance Indicators.
  • To identify staff training needs and ensure high standards of professional practice through systemic individual and team development as well as the management of staff performance and productivity.
  • Within delegated authority, investigate complaints from Council Members, MP’s and the members of the public according to the department procedures.
  • To undertake any other duties consistent with the basic objectives of the post as may be required from time to time by the line manager.
  • To undertake any other temporary responsibilities aligned with the overall purpose and grade of the role.

Requirements of this Team Manager role:

  • A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
  • Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation.
