The salary for this permanent Systemic Family Therapist job is £65,000 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Deliver expert systemic interventions to families of women dealing with severe, complex, and persistent mental health issues, learning difficulties, and/or developmental challenges.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for young people who are at risk of self-harm, and develop both short-term and long-term crisis management plans.
  • Apply evidence-based and formulation-driven systemic perspectives to multidisciplinary risk management, care planning, and decision-making processes.
  • Oversee a complex caseload as a family therapist within a multidisciplinary team, and facilitate group sessions such as carer support groups when needed.
  • Track clinical progress through regular reviews of systemic treatment.
  • Engage with young people exhibiting a range of mental health and developmental needs, utilising extensive theoretical and practical expertise.
  • Support staff development by providing training, consultation, formulation meetings, and reflective practice sessions.
  • Contribute to the advancement of services within the Therapies Team and the broader organisation.

Requirements of the Systemic Family Therapist:

  • Educational Qualifications: Successfully completed a qualifying course in Systemic Psychotherapy at either a Master’s or Doctorate level, accredited by the Association for Family Therapy (AFT). This should include a comprehensive understanding of systemic theory, clinical practice, and therapeutic techniques.
  • Professional Registration: Hold current registration with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), demonstrating adherence to professional standards and ethical guidelines in systemic psychotherapy. This registration should reflect a commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to the UKCP’s code of conduct.
