About the Role:

As a Recovery Navigator, you will work within a flexible, multi-disciplinary team across various community delivery sites. Your role will involve managing a diverse caseload of adult male prison leavers and those on community orders within Probation services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing action plans and guiding individuals on their recovery journey.
  • Building trust and providing continuous support and signposting.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and creating collaborative action plans.
  • Delivering structured one-to-one, group work, and virtual sessions.
  • Maintaining accurate records and adhering to set targets.
  • Providing a range of support and interventions across all complexity levels.
  • You will also enhance access to treatment and support for those on probation, addressing substance use disorders alongside other mental health issues and complex needs.

Opportunities for Specialisation:

  • Some Recovery Navigators will have the chance to become subject matter experts in specific vulnerable groups (e.g., BAME) or needs (e.g., chemsex), offering support to colleagues across the team.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in the criminal justice sector.
  • Extensive experience in the substance misuse field or related areas.
  • Proven ability to manage high caseloads and conduct risk assessments.
  • Experience in delivering one-to-one and group interventions using motivational and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Ability to work effectively with key partners to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills, effective time management, and the ability to meet targets.
  • Understanding of equal opportunity principles and GDPR requirements, including client confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills with diverse populations.
  • Relevant qualification (Level 3 in substance misuse or related field) or comparable experience.
  • Proactivity, resilience, adaptability, confidence, teamwork, and openness to feedback.

Additional Information:
