Job Type & Hours: Locum ongoing contract
Pay Rate: £31 per hour (assignment rate)
Main duties:
- Assess, diagnose and devise support for a caseload of students
- Provide intervention and evaluate evidence-based outcomes for both individuals and groups of students. This will include developing programmes for students with speech, language and communication needs and SEMH.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with teaching and other staff and parents, providing assessment, training and therapy programmes
- Contribute to the development of Speech and Language therapy at the college MAIN
- Support the College’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.

- Participate in college-wide projects and tasks.
- Work in other support services areas to meet the specific needs of workload peaks.
- Such other duties of a similar nature commensurate with the grade as may be required from time to time.
- This may/will require working in other campuses of the College
- Work independently to provide speech and language therapy input to learners with speech, language and communication difficulties for post 16 students dependent on caseload needs.
- Maintain professional standards of service through CPD and other developmental activities complying with the policies and procedures of the college.
- Provide training to other professionals, staff and colleagues. Assess speech, language and communicative skills using both formal and informal assessments
- Analyse assessment results and develop therapy programs/plans, with SMART targets. To deliver speech and language therapy to individual learners on your caseload. To plan, prepare and deliver group therapy sessions.
- Work collaboratively with the teachers and support staff to deliver classroom[1]based interventions.
- Accurately evaluate therapy targets.
- Create resources and programs which can be used by all colleagues in the department. Write full and detailed reports for annual reviews on the pupils you work with
- Maintain up to date and accurate case notes in line with the RCSLT professional standards.
- Provide advice to others regarding the management on the students’ speech language and communicative difficulties.
- Work independently as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Organise and run training sessions/workshops for members of staff and other professionals.
- Provide support and guidance to parent and carers.

Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:
- Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration
- Recent UK/NHS post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist
- Community experience
