A unique opportunity awaits an experienced social worker with over 3 years of post-qualified experience to join our UASC Service. We are seeking someone with a strong background in working with unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, especially in completing age assessments. A robust understanding of immigration legislation, housing regulations, and processes concerning looked after children and leaving care is essential. You will thrive in our stable environment, supported by a reliable team manager and service manager. Regular reflective supervision will help enhance your practice. Liverpool offers a well-rounded support system, including personal advisors within this service. Please note, applications from individuals with less than 3 years of post-qualified experience will not be accepted, and ASYE must be completed.

What you will do:

  • Conduct age assessments for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, ensuring all relevant legislation and guidance are adhered to.
  • Provide comprehensive support to children in care and those leaving care, working alongside personal advisors and other support services.
  • Engage with immigration and housing legislation to advocate for the needs of the children you support.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and supervision to reflect on and enhance your practice.
  • Liaise with external agencies to coordinate a holistic support plan for each child.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and interventions with clients.
