What you will do:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people subject to Permanency Care Plans, Kinship Fostering, and Special Guardianship Orders.
  • Contribute to permanency planning to ensure stable, long-term placements and the best outcomes for children and young people.
  • Conduct comprehensive Connected Persons Assessments to evaluate the suitability of kinship carers and push for Special Guardianship Orders as required.
  • Complete mandatory Children Looked After reviews and coordinate care planning meetings in compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.
  • Undertake in-depth assessments of a child’s welfare, safety, and development, ensuring that the care and support plan meets all their needs.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to kinship carers and families, equipping them with necessary resources to better support the child’s needs.
  • Prepare and submit detailed court reports, particularly working to revoke Care Orders and expediting transitions to SGOs for children residing with kinship carers.
