Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Children with Disabilities Team to work full time for Achieving for Children, Kingston.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £36,648per annum.
Main duties:
- To assist in managing the day-today operation of the social work team, under the guidance of the Team Manager, in line with departmental procedures.
- To ensure that designated staff receive supervision and appraisal in accordance with the Supervision Code of Practice and Staff Appraisal guidelines. The senior practitioner will also be responsible for developing the training profile for each social worker in the team and ensuring that their continuing professional development is facilitated.
- To be responsible for the supervision of social work students on practice placements and to liaise with their universities as required.
- To convene, attend and chair professional and legal planning meetings as required and in line with delegated responsibilities.
- To provide the Team Manager with relevant information arising from supervision and appraisal regarding individual case decisions, workload management and professional development.
- Where the child is looked after by the local authority, to ensure the review and supervision of care arrangements in accordance with statutory regulation and to produce written reports and other documentation for this purpose.
- To deputise as required for the Assistant Team Manager and Team Manger in her/her absence.
- To undertake all relevant work with children and their families in accordance with legislation, departmental policies, procedures, eligibility criteria and timescales.
- To ensure that procedures for children with safeguarding plans and procedures for young people looked after are consistently applied.
- To implement, monitor and review care plans and to provide continuing advice, support and social work services to children, young people, their families, and their carers. This will include arrangements for funding and ensuring that the cost of provision remains within agreed budgets.
- To ensure effective and timely communication within and across the Business unit, so that key messages are conveyed to employees, partners, suppliers and other stakeholders in a consistent way.
- To take an active role in inter-professional and inter-agency working building own professional network and collaborative working across other organisations.
Requirements of this Social Worker:
- A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration.
