Duties:
- Provide a professional social work service to adults within a multi-disciplinary team
- Carry out the statutory duties of the Directorate in relation to Adults in accordance with Directorate policies and procedures
- Be responsible for caseload under the supervision of the Team Manager
- Undertake social work tasks working closely with other professional staff to assess the needs of adults and to deliver packages of care to meet individual requirement
- Develop skills in work with older people including those with a mental infirmity and with people with physical disabilities
- Work closely with the other members of the team and assist other team members when required
- Develop special interests according to need, demand and service priorities
- Work and develop links with other agencies both statutory, voluntary and community groups
- Be involved in the duty system during office hours on a rota basis
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post
- Use information technology applications competently
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- CQSW/DipSW/CSS
- Current Social Work England registration
- Willingness & ability to obtain &/or enhance qualifications &/or training for development in this post
- Experience of social work intervention, assessment, care planning and direct work with clients through voluntary work or work in Health and Social Care Agency
- Knowledge of current legislation Interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to negotiate appropriate service or support
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of Equal Opportunities Policy and its implications for practice
- Ability to use IT applications competently
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Ability to adapt to changing working practice
- Must be able to meet the physical and travel/mobility requirements of the post (with or without reasonable adjustments)
- Ability to live and display the Winning Council Values and Behaviours at work
- Able to demonstrate a degree of flexibility in work setting
