Main Duties:

  • Conduct Thorough Assessments: Ensure assessments are precise and enable users to guide their own assessment process, leading to well-informed decisions.
  • Safeguarding Investigation: Collaborate with the Team Manager/Team Leader and Level 3 Social Workers to investigate safeguarding concerns. Work within legal and procedural frameworks to protect vulnerable individuals from abuse and neglect.
  • Commissioning and Resource Management: Oversee commissioning processes to guarantee users receive appropriate support, ensuring value for money and that services align with available resources.
  • Crisis Intervention: Apply local knowledge and professional experience to effectively manage crises, balancing autonomy with the need for safe and appropriate intervention
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Play a pivotal role in multi-agency teams, ensuring coordinated, person-centred assessments and support. Help users maintain independence, achieve their goals, and contribute actively to their community.
  • Apply Social Work Theories: Utilise legislation, guidance, and reflective practice to apply key social work theories and concepts, ensuring the best outcomes for vulnerable adults.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training in line with professional standards and HCPC registration requirements. Social Workers will be expected to pursue Post Qualification Awards as directed by the department.
  • Duty Rota Participation: Fulfil duties as part of a rota system, as agreed with Line Management.
 

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant frontline experience in Adults Services within the UK
