Hybrid working model. 

Pay Rate: £400 per day

Contract: Locum, 3-Months (with opportunity for extension)

Duties:

  • A specialist lead, responsible for the oversight of practice where legal intervention is required to safeguard our most vulnerable children
  • Ensuring that children’s social care practice within the legal framework is timely, proportionate, of high quality and promotes good outcomes for children and young people
  • Working in partnership with the courts, the family Justice board, legal department and a range of operational and strategic stakeholders within the Family Justice System to ensure the timely and effective progression of care proceedings
  • Undertake other tasks to support service delivery, as identified and required by the Service Manager 
  • Work outside ‘normal’ office hours as required by their line manager, this will include providing out of hours senior management cover on a rota basis
  • Responsibility for managing the legal budget 

Requirements of the Court Progression Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Expert knowledge and experience of the children’s social care legal framework
  • Extensive post qualification training and development of practice and management skills 
  • Extensive working knowledge and experience of the children’s social care legal framework, and evidence of delivering best practice in this area
  • A current enhanced DBS disclosure 
  • Experience of working as a Children’s Guardian is desirable but not essential
