Senior Practitioner - Children in Care required in Durham for an ongoing locum position, with a competitive rate of £32.35 per hour. As a Senior Practitioner in our Children in Care team, you will make a significant impact by being a key player in supporting the legal permanence of our children with Care Orders or Special Guardianship Orders. What you will do:
- Work closely with children in care, whether they are living at home under the Placement with Parent Regulations or with connected carers adhering to the Fostering Standards.
- Support children through statutory looked-after processes, keeping assessments up to date and preparing necessary Court documentation to secure their legal permanence.
- Manage a manageable caseload of about 20-22 children.
- Conduct monthly supervision sessions and engage in personal supervision to ensure ongoing professional development.
- Receive frequent support from the team's social work consultant when required.
- Actively participate in team meetings to foster a collaborative team environment.
This is a position for a Social Worker within our Connecting Families Team, where you will focus on helping children achieve legal permanence through being placed with their connected carers. You will work directly with cases requiring the discharge of Care Orders or the granting of Special Guardianship Orders.
