Job Title: Council Senior Conservation Officer
Location: Civic Centre 3, Market Street, Huddersfield, Kirklees, UK
Salary: £40 per hour
Duration: Full Time, 6 months with a break clause at 3 months

What you will do:
- Handle applications for listed building consent, ensuring that these historical sites are preserved and maintained with practical yet sensitive methods.
- Provide expert advice on pre-applications and assist with the discharge of conditions to ensure compliance with conservation standards.
- Respond to general enquiries and offer guidance on enforcement issues relating to heritage at risk.
- Participate in the potential update of the local plan, contributing insights that support sustainable development while respecting historical significance.
- Conduct site visits as required, using your own vehicle to assess and strategize conservation efforts on the ground.
