The salary for this permanent Registered Nurse job is £30,000 - £32,000 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Adhere strictly to NMC guidelines and code of conduct throughout all activities.
  • Support the Centre Manager and Lead Nurse in developing and refining the Clinic action plan.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with primary and secondary care health professionals to collaborate on client recovery plans.
  • Ensure high standards of accommodation for residents, overseeing catering, maintenance, and cleanliness.
  • Conduct comprehensive nurse inductions to integrate new team members effectively.
  • Perform screening, triage, initial assessments, and risk management plans for clients.
  • Plan and provide care for individuals undergoing detoxification programs.
  • Administer medication, monitor effects, and report any abnormalities to doctors.
  • Conduct thorough client assessments and develop, review, and monitor holistic recovery plans.
  • Manage case loads, providing direct clinical care and case management as agreed with the Centre Manager and Lead Nurse.
  • Respond promptly to clinical and medical emergencies, managing crises as a first-line intervention.
  • Coordinate admissions and ensure all case notes and statutory records are current.
  • Collaborate with Community Pharmacies to ensure timely prescription fulfillment.
  • Participate actively in clinical audits, service reviews, and user satisfaction evaluations, implementing improvement recommendations.
  • Facilitate the transfer of clients from secondary to primary care services as needed.
  • Compile data and contribute to service reports.
  • Occasionally supervise junior staff and volunteers to ensure effective performance of their duties.

Requirements of the Registered Nurse:

  • Hold a current, recognised nursing qualification in the UK (RMN, RGN, CPN, or equivalent).
  • Registered Nurse Mental Health (RMN) or Registered Nurse General (RGN) with active NMC Registration and PIN.
  • Proven experience delivering clinical interventions in the substance misuse field, grounded in a clear philosophical or theoretical framework.
  • Supervisory experience overseeing clinical casework of qualified staff in alcohol and drug treatment.
  • Proficient in conducting comprehensive screening, clinical assessments, audits, and developing recovery plans.
  • Experience managing a caseload of clients prescribed substitute medication.
  • Successful track record in building and maintaining effective partnerships with GPs, treatment agencies, and other healthcare providers.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage incidents involving challenging behavior effectively.
  • Skilled in maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records for monitoring purposes.
  • Familiarity with NICE guidelines, DANOS, and Models of Care Frameworks.
  • Knowledgeable in evidence-based practices and treatment interventions within substance misuse.
  • Competent in computer literacy and using IT for administrative tasks, monitoring, and clinical data reporting.
  • Excellent case management skills, including assessment, care planning, and conducting treatment reviews.
